The Kochon Prize is awarded annually by Stop TB Partnership to individuals or organizations that have made a significant contribution to combating tuberculosis.
Every year, a theme is selected to recruit nominations who have made a great achievement in combating tuberculosis(TB), contributed to the formulation and implementation of a system or policy for anti-TB programs or who have made a contribution to education and training for the prevention of TB.
Different topics are selected each year for the award. The screening committee that is made up of experts recruit award candidates who have made notable achievements in research, medical treatment, education, and volunteer services areas. The final candidates are selected for the award after the review.
The Prize consists of a medal and a USD $ 65,000, that is the largest prize globally devoted to TB.
